Restriction and Freedom

August 25, 2010

Perhaps the hardest thing for all of us to do is to limit and restrict ourselves and our desires in the face of unlimited choice, freedom and abundance. In today’s world, such an action seems contrary to all that we value, strive and work for and are even willing to fight and die for and therefore we don’t do it. Only after we have abused our freedoms and thoroughly spoiled and ruined our health and our lives and are then forcibly left with only the two choices of either self-restraint or death do we realize and appreciate it’s value. Sadly, for many, this realization comes too late. Yet those who discover the value of restriction and daily restraint not only choose life but have found the key to freedom and a healthier and happier life. They have discovered macrobiotics.
