Day 16 – Saturday, November 14, 2009
I met a nice group of people Saturday morning. I am enjoying getting out and meeting new friends in the community.
In the afternoon I went to a place in downtown Pittsfield started by a friend/acquaintance of mine, Vincent Carter, intriguingly called “Temple 33 and 1/3″. He was sponsoring a free lecture with Ed Esko, so I took the liberty to say “Hi” to Ed and check out the space. Vincent’s intention is to make it a community space for like minded people and groups. You can find out more information on his website here: http://www.thetemple33-3.com/
Later I went to see the big budget film, “2012″ starring John Cusack and Woody Harrelson. Woody was funny. Not that I enjoy wide scale destruction or wish bad things on people, but it was fun to see Yellowstone National Park turn into a huge volcano, Los Angeles fall into the ocean, Las Vegas swallowed up by the earth, the Vatican ( with the requisite crack in the ceiling separating man and God) tumble down, Washington D.C. be destroyed and the Himalayas be submerged by a huge tidal wave – all on the big screen. Silly Hollywood fun. I ran into my daughter who was at the movie with all of her friends. It was nice to see her.
I did have a stressful phone call in the morning that I am still working through. I may write about it later.
In the evening I had several comments and responses to yesterday’s bog entry from friends. I appreciate them all and am grateful. Thank you.
